Introduction

Langtang trek is an astonishing trek of Nepal, specially designed with the combination of the remote and picturesque valley of Langtang and the adventure trek route to explore hills, etc. Langtang Trek is considered one of Nepal’s most popular trekking trails, offering us an incredible and diverse journey along the Langtang Valley. This trekking trail includes a long, steep, decent climate, subalpine dense forest, majestic Himalayan views, glaciers, and picturesque villages. The trail is also popular in the Buddhist culture. We can see the colourful prayer flags hanging as we walk through the beautiful villages and the Buddhist Shrines. We can see mani walls, and big rocks painted with Buddhist mantras.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed by a beautiful garland of seasonal flowers at the gate of the International Arrival Terminal.
With the final counting and loading of luggage into the vehicle, you will transfer to the hotel and check in.

After welcome refreshments, there will be a short briefing with the Infusion Trip Adventure Representative. You will get general information and orientation about the tour or trek.

Then you have free time in Kathmandu. You can explore the city.

In the evening – welcome dinner and traditional show in an authentic Nepali restaurant in Kathmandu. You will enjoy your dinner with different types of dances.

Day 02: Drive to Syabrubesi (1,500m/4,920ft)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and start a scenic drive to Syabrubesi for about 6 hours. For the first 1 hour, we will drive uphill to the Gurje Pass exit Kathmandu Valley and descend towards Trishuli of Nuwakot. The road is blacktopped.

Following the Aakhu River and Trishuli River, we will reach Betrawati and enter Rasuwa. After driving for 3 hours, we will reach Dhunche and descend to Shyabrubesi. Upon arrival at Syabrubesi, check into the lodge and explore the place.

Day 03: Trek to Sherpagaon (2,560m/8,396ft)

After breakfast, walk towards the Police checkpost and descend to the Bhotekoshi River. After crossing the river, take a left-side route towards Khanjim Village as shown on the direction board. (The right side is the Old Syabrubesi). The steep uphill trail through the pine forest for about 3 hours leads us to Khanjim Village, the perfect place to stop for Lunch.

After lunch, continue to walk towards Sherpagaon. On the way, we will get a view of the Ganesh Himal Range. After a few hours of walking, we will reach Sherpagaon and check into the teahouse lodge.

Day 04: Trek to Thangsyap (3,200m/10,496ft)

After breakfast, start to walk through the Cliffside trail. We must be careful while walking as there are loose rockfalls. After an hour, we will reach Rimche and stop for a tea and coffee break. Then walk towards Lama Hotel and further towards Chumoa following the left bank of Langtang River and stop for Lunch. There is only one teahouse lodge at lunch point.

Leaving Chumoa, we will walk further 15 minutes, cross the river follow the right bank. The trails take you alongside the Langtang River, from where you will arrive at the settlement of Ghodetabela, which is traditionally a horse stable. From this place, we will see the changes in the vegetation as well and it’s beginning to see Langtang Himal (7,234m) and other peaks. Walking for 30 minutes led us to Thangsyap.

Day 05: Trek to Kyajing Gompa (3,890m/12,760ft)

On this day, we will pass through the beautiful terrains that will take you to the beautiful village of Langtang. This section of the trek requires quite an uphill climb in the region.
The beautiful trails will take you through the several water streams in the region. You can also find beautiful watermills and prayer wheels in the area There are different Tibetan cultural settlements in the village, along with Buddhist landmarks. The beautiful stone-paved, flat-tiled houses are the other attractions of the region.

You will continue your journey through the beautiful terrains to arrive at Kyanjin Gompa. This is the trek’s highest point, and you must acclimate and drink large amounts of water to tackle altitude sickness. You will pass through the beautiful courses of yak pasture land to arrive at your destination.
You can observe the spectacular views of the snow-clad mountains of the region, including Mt. Langtang, Mt Ganchempo, and others. The beautiful trail will take you through the various religious landmarks of the chortens, prayer flags, and mani walls.

Day 06: Hike to Langshisa Valley

Full-day excursion for Kyanjin Gompa / Langshisa Glacier / Kyanjin Gompa with packed lunch:
From Kyanjin Gompa enters a wide alluvial delta. Cut across the gently undulating surface and cross a stream to arrive at an airstrip from which the entire outline of the Langtang Lirung can be appreciated. Pass the airstrip and follow the river as Langshisa Ri (6427m) appears at the far end of the valley while the form of Ganchempo on the opposite bank is transformed.

Climb the rocky terraced hills from the river path and arrive at the stone huts of Jatang. Beyond Jatang, descend once more to the dry river bed and then return immediately to the terraced hills to see the terminal moraine of the Shalbachum Glacier pushing into the valley.

Just before this moraine is Nubamatang with its five stone huts. Cut across the grassy fields and climb the terminal moraine diagonally for a grand vista – Directly ahead in the wide mountain valley are Pemathang Karpo Ri (6830m), Triangle and Pemathang Ri (6842m), to the right is Langshisa Ri. Descend to Langshisa Kharka (4125m) for views of Kanshurum (6078m) and Urkinmang (6151m) at the far reaches of the Langshisa Glacier. Later return to Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 07: Acclimatization Walk to Tsergo Ri (4,950m/16,236ft)

 Early morning, wake up calls and start hiking to Tsergo Ri. This is quite an exciting section of the trek in the Langtang region. The beautiful terrains on the course of this section are quite challenging as you hike up to the Tsergo Ri. The trail passes through gorgeous landscapes where you can travel while observing the snow-capped mountains. Later return to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for gear checking and preparation.

Day 08: Trek to Ngen-Gang Kharka (4,330m/14,202)

Leaving Kyanjing, we will cross the Langtang River and walk uphill to the base of Ganja-La. The steep climb through smaller trees of rhododendron, birch, dwarf rhododendron and wildflowers. After walking for a few hours, we will reach to an open ground at the base of the mountains and set up a camp for an overnight stay. In our free time, we will walk around the Yak grazing pasture land and prepare for the next day’s adventure.

Day 09: Cross Ganja La Pass (5,130m/16,826ft) and trek to Keldang Kharkha (4,250m/13,940ft)

This is the main day of our adventure trip. Early morning wakes up and starts to ascend the steep rocky moraine of Ganja La Pass. Some sections are technical before reaching to the top of the pass, so we will climb those sections with the cooperation of guides. The pass could be challenging in the snow or during the winter season. After a steep climb to the top of the Ganja-La pass marked with rock cairns and old Buddhist prayer flags.

From the top, we will enjoy 360-degree of stunning views of Naya Kanga or Ganjala Peak, with the whole of Langtang and Jugal Himal range. Then slowly descend to the Keldang Kharka and set up overnight camp.

Day 10: Trek to Dhukpa (4,040m/13,250ft)

On this day, we will walk on a gradual Nepali flat path on a ridgeline and back into the tree lines. The trail is a few uphill and mostly downhill reaching a temporary shelter at Dukpu.

Day 11: Trek to Tarke Ghyang (2,560m/8,396ft)

After breakfast, start descending to Tarke Ghyang. On a sidewalk, we can hike to Ama Yangri Peak. It is believed to be Holy Mountain where people visit to explore ancient old monasteries and sacred caves where deities are believed to be mediated here. This is one of the attractions of Helambu Region.

Upon arrival at Tarke Ghyang, we w enjoy the culture, and daily lifestyles with traditional houses and monasteries.

Day 12: Drive back to Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)

After breakfast, walk down to Timbu and meet the awaiting vehicle and start a scenic drive to Kathmandu via Melamchi Bazar and take a route of Melamchi-Sankhu Route.

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer and check into the hotel.

You will have time to relax after the long journey, breathe easily and just rest at your hotel before completing your Himalayan Adventure with us.

Day 13: Contingency day on trek or Kathmandu in case of bad weather or health issues.

Day 14: Transfer to International Airport for final departure.

Timely transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport to board an onward flight to home country 3 hours earlier than the scheduled flight departing time. We wish you a happy journey during your flight from Nepal to your home country with the hope to see you on your next visit to Nepal.
