The Everest Three Passes trek is the thrilling adventure of walking over the three high mountain passes above 5000m, namely Renjo La Pass, Chola Pass and Kongma La Pass including the most popular destination, Everest Base Camp. This trek passes 4 different valley, namely, Thame Valley, Gokyo Valley, Khumbu Valley and Imja Valley.
This 21-days trekking in the Everest Region covers the major parts of Sagarmatha National Park with the beautiful scenery of snow-capped mountains, lush green hills, flowing rivers, flora and fauna and many more. This trek combines all the trekking destinations of Everest Region such as Thame, Gokyo, Everest Base Camp, Chhukung Valley, and lower belt of Khumbu region. For completing this trek, one must by physically and mentally prepared as we need to walk over various glacier and ice parts. Taking a clockwise direction from Namche Bazar, the trail heads towards Thame and further uphilll towards Renjo La pass and reach to Gokyo Valley, where we will explore five Glacier Lake. Then the section of Cho-La Pass will connect with Everest Base Camp route and we will couple of days in the busy trails as thousands of trekkers will be on the journey towards Everest Base Camp.
Highlights of Trek
If you are seeking for less adventure, there are some alternative trekking route Everest Base Camp Trek which is very popular trekking route. Not only this, if you are expert on climbing, you can do trekking to EBC as acclimatization walk and on return, you can opt for either Lobuche Peak (6,119m) Climbing or Island Peak (6,189m) Climbing. You can climb Island Peak after completing Three Passes trek. In spite of these extreme adventures, if you are beginner but do no wish to trek up to base camp can do short trek of Everest View Trek upto 3,880m (Hotel Everest View) which is suitable when you have less time.

Best Season
Spring Season (March-May) and Autumn Season (September to Early December) are considered as the best time to go Everest Three Passes trek as we can expect mild temperature in the day and night and clear blue sky. However, the unpredictable weather pattern of mountain can cause frequent changes in the weather of specific places. Before trekking, we will inform the estimated weather pattern and temperature for trekking period during briefing session.

We focus on the safety and healthy performances of trekkers above 3000m with ample acclimatization days to minimize the risk of High Altitude Sickness. We provide a wilderness first aid treatment and backup oxygen concentrator with modern masks and regulators.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed by a beautiful garland of seasonal flowers at the gate of the International Arrival Terminal. With the final counting and loading of luggage into the vehicle, you will transfer to the hotel and check in.
After welcome refreshments, there will be a short briefing with the Infusion Trip Adventure Representative. You will get general information and orientation about the tour or trek. Then you have free time in Kathmandu. You can explore the city.
In the evening – welcome dinner and traditional show in an authentic Nepali restaurant in Kathmandu. You will enjoy your dinner with different types of dances.

Day 02: Half-Day Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu and drive to Mulkot (495m/1,625ft)
After breakfast, proceed for a half-day sightseeing tour of UNESCO’s World Heritage Site, including Pashupatinath Temple and Bhaktapur Durbar Square.
After the sightseeing tour, start to drive to Mulkot for about 4 hours via BP Highway to about 132 Km. Upon arrival at Mulkot, check into the resort and get refreshments with swimming.

Day 03: Drive to Manthali Airport & Fly to Lukla – 20 mins & start Trek to Phakding (2,610m/8,560ft)
Early morning, drive to Manthali Airport for about one and a half hours. And check in at the airline’s counter and board the flight of Lukla. This 20-minute flight provides a magnificent view of the massif Himalayan Ranges in the north. Upon arrival at Tenzing-Hillary Airport, Lukla, meet the trekking support team, assistant guide & porters.
Before commencing the trek, stop at a nearby lodge for hot tea/coffee and light snacks. Then start to trek to Phakding for about 3 hours by exploring the charming town of Lukla with hotels and shops lining both sides of the traditional cobbled street. Just at the end of town, there is a check post where we need to get the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit and Sagarmatha National Park Permit Fee. The trail is downhill and easy to walk and passes through beautiful human settlements of Chheplung, Thadokoshi, and Ghat, and ultimately descends to Phakding (2,610m).

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,284ft)
Breakfast at the teahouse. Packing and preparations for a trekking day.
With the rule of 6-7-8, we will have breakfast at 7 am and start to walk at 8 am towards Namche Bazar. This day, most of the trekkers find it a little bit difficult as we will gain 830m of elevation within 6 hours. For the first half, the trail is easy following the river bank. At Monjo, we will stop at the check post to check the permits and enter Sagaramatha National Park and descend to Jorsalle where we will stop for Lunch.
Leave the main village and follow the trail on the left bank of the Dudhkoshi River.
Walking for 30 minutes more, we will reach Hillary Bridge from where we will walk uphill. Near halfway, we will get a chance to see Mt. Everest (8,848.86m), Lhotse (8,516m), Taboche, Kusum Kanguru (6,339m), Thamserku, and many other peaks. After climbing for 3 hours we will reach Namche Bazar.
This prosperous town is the largest in Khumbu. Mt. Thamserku (6,648m) and Kwangde Ri (6,624m) loom along the east and west of the village. The sacred mountain Khumbila (5,707m) dominates the skyline along the west.

Day 05: Rest day for acclimatization in Namche Bazaar.
On this day we will explore Namche in the morning time. Before leaving Namche Bazar, we will visit Sherpa Cultural Museum, Mount Everest Documentation Center, Sagarmatha National Park Museum and Tenzing Norgay Memorial.
Then we will continue to walk towards Everest View Hotel. En route, we will stop at Shyangboche Airstrip (3,775m) to visit Sagarmatha Next. At the Visitors Centre, you will find information about Sagarmatha National Park and the Khumbu region including History, Geography, Culture, Climbing & Trekking, Flora & Fauna, as well as the environmental challenges that we are facing and possible solutions. Then continue walking to Hotel Everest View (3,880m) and return to Namche Bazar.

Trek to Thame (3,800m/12,464ft)
Leaving Namche Bazaar, we take the northwest route via Namche Helipad to the village of Thame following the BhoteKoshi River. The trail passes through pine and rhododendron forests and the beautiful stupa of Thamo. There is a popular monastery in Thamo which is situated southeast of the Buddhist Stupa, Chorten, and northwest of the Furte Stupa.
After walking for 3 hours, we will reach Thame. It is the Sherpa Community and the birthplace of many Everest Summiteers, including Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, the first person to climb Mt. Everest in 1953 with Sir Edmund Hillary). In the evening, we will visit Thame monastery which takes about 25 minutes.
Theme Monastery was built 350 years ago into the steep, bluffed hillside above the Thengbo Khola. Thame Monastery was built at the same time as Kerok, Pangboche and Rimijung Gompas when three brothers migrated from Rolwaling and settled in Khumbu. Residing in this monastery is a reincarnate that came from the adjacent Rolwaling Valley. Thame Gompa holds the Mani Rimdu festival each year.

Day 07: Trek to Lungden (4,350m/14,268ft)
After breakfast, start to trek to Lungden via Nangpa La. The trail leads toward Taranga, the last village in the valley and further to Marlung Village, following the trail of an old salt trade trail from Khumbu and Tibet. We will walk into an isolated wilderness yak grazing land and the terrain of sparse vegetation and reach Lungden.

Day 08: Trek to Gokyo Lake (4,750m/15,580ft) via Renjo La Pass (5,360m/17,580ft)
Early in the morning, start to trek towards Renjo la Pass, the first pass among three passes. This day will be exciting with an adventurous walk and marvellous views from the top of the pass including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse and Taboche and the Gokyo Valley. The path then descends and enters the Gokyo Valley with a mesmerizing view of the Lakes in the Gokyo Region and the Glacier. After a long journey over the high pass & glacier, we will reach Gokyo.

Day 09: Excursion of Gokyo Lakes
On this day, we will explore the lakes of Gokyo & the Ngozumpa Glacier. Dudh Pokhari, considered the main lake, is close to the settlement area. Walking by the side of the lake, the scenery is breathtaking with the summits of Cho Oyu and Gyachung Kang reflected in its emerald green waters. the fourth and fifth Gokyo Lakes located to the north of Gokyo Village. After a hike of nearly 2 hours, we arrive at 4th Gokyo Lake aka Thonak Tsho (4,840m). Eventually, we continue our hike to 5th Gokyo Lake known as Ngozumpa Tso (4,980m). A small hill adorned with prayer flags is situated on the verge of the moraine to the east of this very lake. After gazing at nature’s splendour, we trek down to Gokyo (4,790m).

Day 10: Hike to Gokyo Ri (5,360m/17,582ft) and trek to Thagnag (4,700m/15,416ft)
This morning, we go ahead with our trek to Gokyo Ri (5,360m). It takes about three hours to conquer the summit where we can lay our eyes on the grandeur of snow-covered massifs. This phenomenal vista embraces more of Everest gracefully surrounded by Makalu (8,485m), Lhotse (8,516m), and Cho Oyu (8,201m).
Besides these, we can also spot other magnificent peaks like Nuptse (7,861m), Changtse (7,543m), and many more. Few speculate that the finest Everest view observed from here is even better than that from Kala Patthar.
Eventually, we climb down to Goyko then and continue down to the Thagnag along the glacier and moraines. At the end of the day, we arrive in Thagnag.

Day 11: Trek to Dzongla (4,855m/15,924ft) via Cho La Pass (5,420m/17,778ft)
Early morning, start trekking towards Cho La Pass which connects Dzongla and Thagnak. The trail is rocky and the glacial moraines. This pass provides spectacular views of Everest, Cholatse Glacier and the other Himalayas. After enjoying the views from there, we will be descending to Dzongla.

Day 12: Trek to Lobuche (4,910m/16,104ft)
After breakfast, start trekking Lobuche following the moraine and descending alongside Chola Lake and descends to Yak herder’s summer pastures. As we proceed, we will be seeing memorial statues of the climbers who passed away in this region. Before we reach Lobuche, we will rejoin the Everest Base Camp main trail and follow Lobuche Valley to reach the settlement of Lobuche.

Day 13: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,594ft) via Gorekshep (5,160m/16,925ft)
From Lobuche, the trail will be along the Khumbu Glacier through the jumbled moraines and scattered rocks. The trail continues to slowly contour on the open landscape through ablation and after about an hour, there is a steep ascent for about 20 minutes. Climb slowly to a ridge and then continue on a trail of rocks caused by rockslides. On a clear day, Mt. Everest can be seen looming behind Nuptse. Upon arriving at Gorekshep, stop for lunch and make a day pack and start hiking to Everest Base Camp following the Khumbu Glacier. The trail continues on a ridge between Pumori and Nuptse. After we reach Everest Base Camp, (Symbolic by a giant stone written with Everest Base Camp (5,364m), we will spend a few minutes clicking pictures around the base camp area. However, the highlight of the trip to this place is the sight of the Khumbu icefall. And return to Gorekshep for an overnight stay.

Day 14: Climb KalaPatthar (5,550m/18,204ft) and trek down to Lobuche (4,910m/16,104ft)
Early morning wakes up and prepares a day pack and takes the left-hand side trail and heads straight up the hill to Kala Patthar (5,545m) for views of Mt. Everest. The trek up to the top is an arduous one and takes about an hour and a half to two to reach. The early morning is the best time to view Mt. Everest from this vantage point as the sun is behind the observer and directly on the mountains in front. This hike offers a 360-degree view of giant peaks, Pumori (7,161m), Everest (8,848.86m), and China’s peaks Changtse (7,553m), Nuptse (7,855m), Lhotse (8,516m), Ama Dablam and many others. Later return to Gorakshep for breakfast.

Day 15: Trek to Chhukung (4,720m/15,514ft) via Kong ma La pass (5,535m/18,155ft)
Early morning, start trek towards Kongma La pass, the final pass among three passes which will be the longest journey of this trek. The trail passes through the Khumbu Glacier and the moraine of the icy glacial path and leads to the top of Kongma La Pass, enclosed between the great Nuptse wall, Mehara and Pokalde peaks. Then, a long descending walk leads on a pleasant trail to join at Imjatse wide valley with incredible views of Island Peak, Amadablam, and other high peaks. Further, we will walk and reach Chhukung.

Day 16: Backtrack to Devouche (3,710m/11,644ft)
After breakfast, start to walk down on Imja Valley following Imja River. After couple of hour, we will arrive Dingboche on the western flanks of Mt. Amadablam. We will stop for tea/coffee. And continue walk down to Pangboche via Somare. Time permits, we will visit Pangboche Monastery where we will witness the skeleton of Yeti.
With an easy downhill walk. we will reach to Devouche and stay overnight there.

Day 17: Backtrack to Monjo (2,840m/9,316ft)
In the morning, start to walk towards Namche Bazar. At first, 30 minutes of walk will lead us to Tengboche Monastery, which is the historical remarks of Everest Region. Further, the trail is steep downhill to Phungi Tenga and climbs all the way up to Kyangjuma. The trail has a few ups and downs while overlooking amazing views of the high Himalayas along the way.
Continue trek towards Namche by following the path around the eastern flanks of the hills. At the rear is the beautiful west face of the Thamserku (6,608m) and Kangtenga (6,685m). From Namche Bazaar head to the end of the village and then immediately start to descend to the river, towards Hillary Bridge and further walk to Monjo.

Day 18: Back track to Lukla (2,840m/9,315ft)
This is the last day of our trek. Leaving Monjo, following Dudh Koshi River, we will retrace the trail towards Phaking and ascends to the uphill trail to Lukla for about 6 hours. It is a delightful ending to the trip as we enter the busy village of Lukla.
In the evening, there will be a small farewell program for the trekking team.

Day 19: Fly to Manthali Airport, Ramechhap & drive back to Kathmandu.
After an early morning flight from Lukla to Manthali Airport of Ramechhap, meet the awaiting vehicle at Airport and drive back to Kathmandu for about 4 hours and check into the hotel. You will have time to relax after the long journey, breathe easily and just rest at your hotel before completing your Himalayan Adventure with us.
