Introduction

Langtang trek is an astonishing trek of Nepal, specially designed with the combination of the remote and picturesque valley of Langtang and the adventure trek route to explore hills, etc. Langtang Trek is considered one of Nepal’s most popular trekking trails, offering us an incredible and diverse journey along the Langtang Valley. This trekking trail includes a long, steep, decent climate, subalpine dense forest, majestic Himalayan views, glaciers, and picturesque villages. The trail is also popular in the Buddhist culture. We can see the colourful prayer flags hanging as we walk through the beautiful villages and the Buddhist Shrines. We can see mani walls, and big rocks painted with Buddhist mantras.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed by a beautiful garland of seasonal flowers at the gate of the International Arrival Terminal.
With the final counting and loading of luggage into the vehicle, you will transfer to the hotel and check in.

After welcome refreshments, there will be a short briefing with the Infusion Trip Adventure Representative. You will get general information and orientation about the tour or trek.

Then you have free time in Kathmandu. You can explore the city.

In the evening – welcome dinner and traditional show in an authentic Nepali restaurant in Kathmandu. You will enjoy your dinner with different types of dances.

Day 02: Drive to Syabrubesi (1,500m/4,920ft)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and start a scenic drive to Syabrubesi for about 6 hours. For the first 1 hour, we will drive uphill to the Gurje Pass exit Kathmandu Valley and descend towards Trishuli of Nuwakot. The road is blacktopped.

Following the Aakhu River and Trishuli River, we will reach Betrawati and enter Rasuwa. After driving for 3 hours, we will reach Dhunche and descend to Shyabrubesi. Upon arrival at Syabrubesi, check into the lodge and explore the place.

Day 03: Trek to Gatlang (2,280m/7,478ft)

This is the first day of trekking begins from Syabrubesi to Gatlang for about 6 hours. The trail takes us to a viewpoint with a stunning view of Ganesh Himal, Sishapangma, Langtang Lirung, Gosainkunda ranges and other snow-capped peaks. Along the trail, we will see numerous Buddhist Stupas, Chortens and mani walls. After walking for 50 minutes, we will reach Goljung village and stop for lunch. In our free time, we will explore the village. Then continue walking for 2 hours, and we will reach Gatlang village. It is a beautiful Tamang settlement with cultural richness. After a warm welcome at the village, we will explore the village lifestyles, culture, traditions and popular landmarks including a 100-year-old Tamang Monastery and the sacred lake, Parvati Kunda.

Day 04: Trek to Tatopani (2,620m/8,594ft)

After breakfast, start to trek to Tatopani with the delightful view of Langtang Ranges and Ganesh Himal. En route, we will stop at Chilime Hydropower. And cross the suspension bridge over the Chilime River and reach Cherka for Lunch. Then ascend to the village of Gongang for about 2 hours. From the village, we will continue walking to Tatopani for about 2 hours. Upon arrival at Tatopani, we will check into the lodge. After some refreshments, we will enjoy a natural hot spring.

Day 05: Trek to Thuman (2,350m/7,708ft)

The trail passes through the lush green forest dominated by rhododendron and can witness the troops of grey langur monkeys. We will enjoy the walk with the view of Ganesh Himal in the West and the Langtang range in the east. After walking for 45 minutes from Brimdang, we will reach Nagthali Hill (3,210m) from where we can see a panoramic view of Langtang Lirung, Kerung, Ganesh Himal, Shishapangma and Sanjen Ranges. We will also visit the monastery and descend through the deep woodlands to Thuman. We will explore the village with the lifestyle of the people and their cultures and traditions. If possible, we will witness cultural programs.

Day 06: Trek to Briddim (2,170m/7,118ft)

After breakfast, start to descend to Timure which is close to the riverside. En route, we will see the Tibeto-Burman Tamang Culture.

As we get into the highway, if time permits, we will drive towards Rasuwagadi, near to Nepal-China Border, explore for a while and return to the same point.

After walking for 2 hours, we will reach Briddim and enjoy the cultural programs, observe the lifestyle of villagers, cultures and traditions, experience the homestay, and many more aspects.

Day 07: Trek to Sherpagaon (2,560m/8,396ft)

Leaving Briddim, the easy walk through pine forest lead us to the beautiful typical village of Kanjim. The rural lifestyle, greenery and authentic food will make us to stop at Khanjim. From Khanjim, the trail ascends towards the dense forest and join the road track on the cliffside trail.

On the way, we will get a view of the Ganesh Himal Range. After a few hours of walking, we will reach Sherpagaon and check into the teahouse lodge.

Day 08: Trek to Thangsyap (3,200m/10,496ft)

After breakfast, start to walk through the Cliffside trail. We must be careful while walking as there are loose rockfalls. After an hour, we will reach Rimche and stop for a tea and coffee break. Then walk towards Lama Hotel and further towards Chumoa following the left bank of Langtang River and stop for Lunch. There is only one teahouse lodge at lunch point.

Leaving Chumoa, we will walk further 15 minutes, cross the river follow the right bank. The trails take you alongside the Langtang River, from where you will arrive at the settlement of Ghodetabela, which is traditionally a horse stable. From this place, we will see the changes in the vegetation as well and it’s beginning to see Langtang Himal (7,234m) and other peaks. Walking for 30 minutes led us to Thangsyap.

Day 09: Trek to Kyajing Gompa (3,890m/12,760ft)

On this day, we will pass through the beautiful terrains that will take you to the beautiful village of Langtang. This section of the trek requires quite an uphill climb in the region.
The beautiful trails will take you through the several water streams in the region. You can also find beautiful watermills and prayer wheels in the area There are different Tibetan cultural settlements in the village, along with Buddhist landmarks. The beautiful stone-paved, flat-tiled houses are the other attractions of the region.

You will continue your journey through the beautiful terrains to arrive at Kyanjin Gompa. This is the trek’s highest point, and you must acclimate and drink large amounts of water to tackle altitude sickness. You will pass through the beautiful courses of yak pasture land to arrive at your destination.
You can observe the spectacular views of the snow-clad mountains of the region, including Mt. Langtang, Mt Ganchempo, and others. The beautiful trail will take you through the various religious landmarks of the chortens, prayer flags, and mani walls.

Day 10: Hike to Langshisa Valley

Full-day excursion for Kyanjin Gompa / Langshisa Glacier / Kyanjin Gompa with packed lunch:
From Kyanjin Gompa enters a wide alluvial delta. Cut across the gently undulating surface and cross a stream to arrive at an airstrip from which the entire outline of the Langtang Lirung can be appreciated. Pass the airstrip and follow the river as Langshisa Ri (6427m) appears at the far end of the valley while the form of Ganchempo on the opposite bank is transformed.

Climb the rocky terraced hills from the river path and arrive at the stone huts of Jatang. Beyond Jatang, descend once more to the dry river bed and then return immediately to the terraced hills to see the terminal moraine of the Shalbachum Glacier pushing into the valley.

Just before this moraine is Nubamatang with its five stone huts. Cut across the grassy fields and climb the terminal moraine diagonally for a grand vista – Directly ahead in the wide mountain valley are Pemathang Karpo Ri (6830m), Triangle and Pemathang Ri (6842m), to the right is Langshisa Ri. Descend to Langshisa Kharka (4125m) for views of Kanshurum (6078m) and Urkinmang (6151m) at the far reaches of the Langshisa Glacier. Later return to Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 11: Hike to Kyanjing Ri (4,773m/15,655ft); backtrack to Ghode Tabela (3,050m/10,005ft)

Early morning, wake up calls and start hiking to Kyanjing Ri This is quite an exciting section of the trek in the Langtang region. The beautiful terrains on the course of this section are quite challenging as you hike up to the Kyanjing Ri. The trail passes through gorgeous landscapes where you can travel while observing the snow-capped mountains. Later return to the hotel for breakfast.

After breakfast, start to descend to GhodeTabela after exploring the beautiful terrains. After passing through the same route you took earlier through the settlements, you will finally arrive at the Ghodetabela.

Day 12: Trek to Thulo Syabru (2,200m/7,216ft)

In the morning, we will walk downhill retracing the trail up to Pahiro via Lama Hotel and further towards Bamboo. In a few places, we need to be very careful about the rock fall and landslides. After lunch at Pahiro, we will ascend to Thulo Syabru via the old route of Langtang from Dhunche. This village stands just opposite of Ganesh Himal ranges. Upon arrive at Thulo Syabru, we will explore the old village.

Day 13: Trek to Sing Gompa (3,310m/10,856ft)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and commence the trek towards Sing Gompa. The trail ascends through the dense forest. There are few lunch places on the route. After walking for 4 hours, we will reach Sing Gompa. A Yak Cheese Factory and a monastery are the major attractions of Sing Gompa.

Day 14: Trek to Gosainkunda (4,380m/14,366ft)

On this day, we will reach our destination. Throughout the day, we will walk uphill via Cholangpati and Lauribina.   After Lauribina, we will enter to No Tree Line Zone, so we have to walk through barren hills. From the trail, we will get a panoramic view of Langtang Lirung (7234m), Langtang Ri (7205m), Manaslu (8163m) and Ganesh Himal (7422m). 

After walking for about 2 hours, we will reach Buddha Statue Point and walk through a Cliffside road. The terrain is mesmerizing. After hiking for half an hour we will see the first lake, Saraswati Kunda, then Bhairav Kunda and the Mighty Lake Gosaikunda. In the evening, we will explore the lakes.

Day 15: Trek to Ghopte Vir (3,440m/11,283ft)

Early morning, start to climb via the bank of Gosainkunda Lake and ascends to the top of Lauribina Pass (4,600m). From the top, we can see a magnificent view of Rolwaling, Jugal Himal, Gangchempo (6,388m), Langshisha (6,427m), Helambu Region and many more peaks. After the pass, the path descends the slope through National Park Post at Bheda Goth and Phedi and continues to walk up and down crossing a rocky hill with pine, and rhododendron trees of Dhupichaur (3,630m) and finally arrives at Ghopte (3,440m).

Day 16: Trek to Tarke Ghyang (2,560m/8,396ft)

On this day, we will enter an isolated region, Helambu Region. After breakfast, we will walk to Tarke Ghyang, the Hyolmo settlements. We can enjoy the culture, and daily lifestyles with traditional houses and monasteries.

Day 17: Day hike to Ama Yangri Peak (3,771m/12,368) and trek to Timbu (1,400m/4,592ft)

Early morning, we will do an excursion to Ama Yangri Peak, which is also called Ama Jyomo Yangri. It is believed to be the Holy Mountain where people visit to explore ancient old monasteries and sacred caves where deities are believed to be mediated here. This is one of the attractions of Helambu Region. On return, we will explore the Mini Great Wall of Healmbu. In the afternoon, we will descend to Timbu.

Day 18: Drive back to Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)

After breakfast, meet the awaiting vehicle and start a scenic drive to Kathmandu via Melamchi Bazar and take a route of Melamchi-Sankhu Route.

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer and check into the hotel.

You will have time to relax after the long journey, breathe easily and just rest at your hotel before completing your Himalayan Adventure with us.
