Pikey Peak Trek is newly established trekking destination in the lower belt of Khumbu Region offering the view of Mt. Everest and other numerous snow-capped peaks such as Lhotse, Nuptse, and many more. Addition to this, the trek also adds an experiential walk with exploring local culture, traditions and lifestyles of Sherpa Community.
The trail to Pikey Peak is less crowded than other trekking destination. The journey starts from Kathmandu to Dhap Bazar for about 10 hours and the trekking starts from here. Along the trek, you will get warm welcome and hospitality from local people. You will trek through lush forests, picturesque villages, passing by several monasteries, chortens, and mani walls along the way. This fully organized treehouse trek will lead to the elevation of 4,065m above sea level, Pikey Peak.
Although this trek is considered as the moderate walk, we must be prepare for walking uphill and downhill for about 6 hours a day and adapt at the elevation above 3,500m.

Best Time to Visit
Spring Season (March-May) and Autumn Season (September to Early December) are considered as the best time to go Pikey Peak as we can expect mild temperature in the day and night and clear blue sky. However, the unpredictable weather pattern of mountain can cause frequent changes in the weather of specific places. Before trekking, we will inform the estimated weather pattern and temperature for trekking period during briefing session.

We focus on the safety and healthy performances of trekkers above 3000m with ample acclimatization days to minimize the risk of High Altitude Sickness. We provide a wilderness first aid treatment and backup oxygen concentrator with modern masks and regulators.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed by a beautiful garland of seasonal flowers at the gate of the International Arrival Terminal.
With the final counting and loading of luggage into the vehicle, you will transfer to the hotel and check in.
After welcome refreshments, there will be a short briefing with the Infusion Trip Adventure Representative. You will get general information and orientation about the tour or trek.
Then you have free time in Kathmandu. You can explore the city.
In the evening – welcome dinner and traditional show in an authentic Nepali restaurant in Kathmandu. You will enjoy your dinner with different types of dances.

Day 02: Half-Day Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu and drive to Mulkot (495m/1,625ft)
After breakfast, proceed for a half-day sightseeing tour of UNESCO’s World Heritage Site, including Pashupatinath Temple and Bhaktapur Durbar Square.
After the sightseeing tour, start to drive to Mulkot for about 4 hours via BP Highway to about 132 Km. Upon arrival at Mulkot, check into the resort and get refreshments with swimming.

Day 03: Drive to Dhap (2,930m/9,610ft)
In the morning, check out from the hotel and continue to drive following the Koshi River to Khurkot and take a route to Ghurmi and further to Dhap. The road drive passes through dense forests, terraced rice fields and several big rivers. Upon arrival at Dhap, check into the lodge. In the evening, stroll around the market and explore the local culture of the Sherpa Community.

Day 04: Trek to Jhapre (2,820m/9,250ft)
After breakfast, start the trek towards Jhapre. We will walk via Sigane and enter the unspoiled landscapes of Jhapre. It is located at the top with an incredible view of Everest, Numbur Himal and many other snow-capped peaks. At Jhapre, we will explore Buddhist stupas, monasteries, mani walls and peaceful nature.

Day 05: Trek to Pikey Peak Base Camp (3,640m/11,940ft)
Early morning, start trekking towards the base camp of Pikey Peak. Ascending from Jhapre, we will reach Pokhare Danda and visit Tholu Gumba. Then walk over a grassy ridge to Bhulbhule and turn a right and follow the path of Lamuje that leads to the Base Camp. After Lamuje’s Rhododendron Forest, the trail opens up to expose a grassland. We will pass some old yak houses and a long mani wall. The trail then contours the hillside below Taklung Danda and goes through a beautiful forested trail. After walking for a couple of hours, we will reach Pikey Peak Base Camp. After we reach Base Camp, we will visit Yak Cheese Factory and enjoy the surrounding nature.

Day 06: Summit Pikey Peak (4,065m/13,334ft) and trek to Junbesi (2,700m/8,856ft)
Early in the morning, we will climb Pikey Peak (4,065m) before sunrise and enjoy the golden ray of the Sun over the massif Himalayan Ranges extending from Kanchenjunga to Dhaulagiri (permitting clear weather). The view from the top is breathtaking. From the top, descend through the ridge of Lamjura Danda and further down to Junbesi.

Day 07: Trek to Phaplu (2450m)
This is the final day of trekking. In the morning, visit Thupten Choling Monastery, established in the 19th Century, which provides in-depth insights into the region’s culture and religious traditions. Then we will descend to Phaplu via Beni Ghat with a pleasant walk through the coniferous, fragrant forests, streams, small waterfalls, suspension bridges, lush green hills and stunning views of mountains.

Day 08: Drive back to Kathmandu
After breakfast, start a scenic drive to Kathmandu via the Khurkot-Salleri road and BP Highway. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, check into the hotel. The rest of the day is free for refreshments.
